As stated by american security guard has the authority to hold someone who is breaking in, causing damage, or causing other problems on your property. A crime has been committed, and the likely perpetrator has been identified. If a security guard witnesses a criminal act, he or she has the ability to hold individuals or initiate a citizen's arrest.
